Lift, weight, thrust and drag act on an airplane in flight. In unaccelerated flight these forces are in equilibrium; a change in any one requires a change in another to maintain that equilibrium.

Angle of attack is the angle between the chord line and the relative wind. The wing stalls at the critical angle of attack regardless of airspeed, weight or bank angle.
